Playing catch up

Few things have happened since the end of August.

Friends getting married!! On the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, we had two weddings to attend. Thankfully one was in the morning and one in the evening. The one in the morning was outdoors on a golf course, overlooking a small valley where the clouds were rolling in from the other side. Perfect sunny weather, and perfect amount of rolling clouds. The bride arrived in a blue Corvette! Very appropriate as the groom is big into car racing. They also took off in that Corvette when the ceremony was over.

Once the ceremony was over, I rushed off to get ready for the next wedding, as I was part of the wedding party. Hair, makeup, followed by lots of photos. The wedding took place in a Japanese garden - very romantic with the bamboos, flowing waters, and bonsai trees. The funny thing is the groomsman in front of me told me to start walking when he reached the rock. "um, what rock?" I searched the ground and found the "rock" which was a little larger and more grey than the other rocks on the ground. I turned and told the next bridesmaid to start walking when I reached the rock. Repeat of what happened..."um, what rock?" :D

Anyway, the reception was exciting - we got to see the groom serenade the bride! When a guy is willing to do that for his bride, he'll do anything for her.

Latest developments in the ol' work group:
-One of my friend/coworkers transferred groups such that he's completely out of technical now and on the business side of things. Great move!
-One of the engineers is leaving for Chicago as that is where his wife is currently doing her residency. They'd been living apart for a long time now. Good for their marriage!
-An outgoing spunky coworker got engaged! To another old coworker!! hahah!!! It was too funny since I knew the guy. He was in our group for less than a few months. He's really sweet so he'll treat her well. :)
-A crazy coworker actually had a civil ceremony but does not considered himself married because he was not married in the eyes of God. They still have to do a religious ceremony before he'll tell people that he's actually married - silly guy.
