HONEYMOON!

So, we've FINALLY decided on a honeymoon destination...Venice! Well, actually, it's more like Italy because we want to spend time in Florence, Rome, Cinque Terre, and Pompeii. But the last few days will definitely be in Venice. Just to wind it up with a bit of old European romance. teehee. It took us a LONG time to figure this one out because half of me wanted to go to a tropical paradise and the other half wanted to do sightseeing. If we were to do tropical island, then we would spend one week lounging on white beaches and the second week in either Australia or New Zealand. We looked up the weather for May/June in those two countries, and BOY, it's too cold for a honeymoon. So, we nixed the Tahiti idea. BUT, I told FI that I wanted to go to French Polynesia before I become old and saggy. :p

Also, this weekend, I found my chipao! I went to Chinatown on Saturday with my mother. Went to Dragon Seed, located right next to public parking. woohoo! A custom chipao costs about $350-$370 depending on the material you want because the labor costs here are high. The lady who serviced us had a cute babyface with a voice to match. She rolled out bolts of red fabric for us to pick one for the chipao. The fabric that I really liked looked pretty blah until we put it up against me and 'simulated' a chipao. It looked so much better then! The lady was really nice and found two chipaos, already made, made from that fabric I chose. My mother and I had already looked around the store and didn't see those two. And since they wouldn't be custom made, it would be only $120 and free alterations! Now I have to get shoes! heehee!!! Very satisfying shopping trip.

Afterwards, had a cheap but delicious lunch. We HAD to make a trip to this special bakery because we were up in SF. So we braved the crowds (it's the weekend right before Chinese New Year's so everyone was out buying food and incense sticks, PLUS there was a street fair that day) to get three dozen Chinese buns. yum!
