PRETTY IN PURPLE

So, another big mission accomplished! :) Finally found the right bridesmaid dresses! My bridesmaids are so great - no fussing over the choice. In the beginning, when I envisioned the bridesmaid dresses, they were a lavender color, prevalent on Easter. But when my MOHs tried the color on, it was NOT a match with their skin tone. I was disappointed but what can I do. I'm not going to force them to wear something that they do not like. And I was against any plum colors. So the only choices were a grape color or a dusky lavender (kind of a greyish lavender...hard to describe).

This past Saturday, Nov 1, the local BMs and I hit up the south SF area. The first store was disappointing-not too many BM dresses. Then we went to the Jessica McClintock outlet. That's where we rediscovered the grape-colored dresses the MOHs had tried on on an earlier shopping trip. :) I really like the shade of purple because it's so bright and cheery, most importantly, NOT plum. I would not want them to pay the retail price for these dresses but now that they were on a discount, why not? :)

When we decided on the dress, I called up my faraway BM to make sure she would also be cool with the dress. Thank goodness for the web! She looked it up and expressed her approval. yeah! They only had two sizes there at the outlet so we needed to figure out where to find the other sizes. My BMs are so smart-they suggested calling the retail store where we had initially found the dresses (on an earlier shopping trip). Lo and behold, they had all the sizes we needed!!!!

MOH LC was so smart-she told me to tell them to hold the dresses for us until we could get there. So I told the lady on the phone that we were at the outlet and were going to make our way to her store in the afternoon. I had a quick heart-coming-to-a-halt moment when the lady on the phone said that since the dresses were in the outlet, they shouldn't be at their store...but thankfully she described the dresses to me (they were the right ones) and LC found the style number which we confirmed with Retail Store Lady. phew!

Ok, so happy happy, once everyone got their dresses. The dresses were 50% off - very happy the girls did not need to spend over $100 for nice dresses. (Well, at least I think they're nice. :p )
