Candidate Mixup

When student candidates come to interview, the company pairs them up with current employees who graduated from the same school. So I got paired up with a female candidate of Czech descent for the candidate lunch. Before lunch, most people have no idea who their lunch buddy will be on either side.

So I walked into the lobby and looked around. A Caucasian girl stands up looking at me expectantly so I assumed she was my candidate. "Karolina?" I asked. Then she looked confused so I thought I might have pronounced her name incorrectly. Then I introduced myself. She was like "Ooo, I'm not meeting you." Quickly, we both sat down in the lobby couches and waited for our lunch buddies.

Funny how these mixups happen. :p

Freeway sightings

Yesterday, on the way to lunch, a guy in our car spotted a dog on the side of the freeway. We all turned to look at the dog as we sped past. When we faced front again, there was a nicely dressed guy running down the side of the freeway towards us. He was chasing the dog! :D

The dog must've jumped out of his moving car on the freeway such that he had to pull over to the side and run after his dog. Silly dog!

Media

Wow, even back in the days of Oscar Wilde....

"Spies are of no use nowadays. Their profession is over. The newspapers do their work instead."

"And thunderingly well they do it."

HAHA! :D

Round and round she turns...

So I had actually forgotten about posting an entry about a certain dance class I took recently involving a floor-to-ceiling a la firehouse metal rod (i.e., pole). :p I refuse to vent my frustrations over the elections on this blog as I know that there's been sufficient grumbling on other blogs last week. So now, it's just a brief blurb about the class!

Cozy little classroom setting with luscious music playing in the background. Instructor was tiny! She taught us how to walk around, swing around, get very close to, shimmy up, and perch on the pole. After this class, you have a newfound respect for pole dancers - they are STRONG!

The funny thing is the night before this class, I had the opportunity to watch HBO's G-String Divas to see some exotic dancing. So it was really awesome to see our instructor demonstrate those amazing moves in person. Everyone who has the chance should take one of these classes!
