Valentine's Day

We didn't have any big plans this year for Valentine's. It kind of just came up upon us as a surprise. But we got a lot accomplished that day! :D

A couple of weeks ago, we decided that our mattress had to go - it was giving us back aches and we are NOT that old. We've been sleeping on our futon for a while so we decided that it was probably time to buy a new mattress. The day we decided to head to the mall was on Valentine's Day. :p We tried out the Tempurpedic at Brookstone. Then we went to See's Candy to redeem our 1-lb gift certificate that we had received more than two years ago. It was really fun picking and choosing the chocolates we wanted in our one pound box! But of course, the whole thing took a long time because everybody else was in See's buying Valentine's chocolate. That took almost an hour.

Our last stop was the Select Comfort store - the peeps with the Sleep Number mattress. We tried it out...and ended up buying one! They have this bed that was hooked up to a sensor so you can see where you put the most pressure on the bed. And we got to try out their adjustable bed, which would be such a great thing to have if we had a tv in our bedroom. (We just got a normal non-adjustable mattress.)

By the time we were done with the mall, it was 2 hours past what we had originally estimated it would take to go shopping. So, went home and cooked risotto for dinner. I had planned to make appetizers too but since it was already late, we forgo-ed that idea. And after dinner, we sampled our See's candy and ate ice cream.

My brother-in-law had lent us "Before Sunrise" and its sequel "After the Sunset" because he really liked these movies. We decided to give Sunrise a chance...it was a good movie but not very exciting. I guess it was supposed to be very romantic but then it wasn't really. At least I didn't think so. Maybe I don't appreciate intellectual movies as much. :p
