Boston -- yeeeeaaaah baby!

It has been quite a weekend of TV. I've watched more sports games this past weekend than any other! We've been following the World Series and the 3rd and 4th games were on this weekend. So freaking awesome!! Too bad the 4th game wasn't at Fenway. That's ok, I bet Boston had a huge parade and people got to blow off work (or at least play hooky).

On Sunday, DH and I went to the local sports bar to watch the Patriots game. It was not as crazy as when we were there to watch the Patriots vs Cowboys game. We couldn't find a seat until the end of the 4th quarter that time. But this game wasn't as intense I guess. We were able to find seats immediately. :)

After the Patriots pretty much creamed the Redskins, we left before the 4th quarter ended. Went home and TiVo'd the World Series and watched it a few hours later (so we could fast forward through the pre-game and some of the Rockies at bat.) That was a tense game...so excited when the Red Sox won!!!! :) :) :)

Great weekend for Boston. Good thing things weren't going THIS well when I was living there. Otherwise, it would've been such a distraction from studying. That would've been baaaad.

Jane Austen

Last night, went to go see the Jane Austen Book Club. Now I'm inspired to read more Jane Austen. :)

Lately, I've been leaning more towards less-fluffy reading. During the summer I had a good run of chick lit and beach reads. I think all that light reading has made me head towards more of the classics. (Either that or classics are more for cold weather reading.)

Love in the Time of Cholera had been on my to-read list for a while. Since Oprah announced last week that this was her next book club book, I scrambled to get it from the local library before anybody else. In the process, I found a nice little unpopular branch of our local library that has a BUNCH of books I had been looking for but could not find in the more popular branches. That's where I picked up the Jane Austen Book Club!

Side note - I totally agree with the Rolling Stones article that it's sad how the Patriots got a severe punishment for spying considering that our heads of government barely got a slap on the wrist for the spying they've done.
